Craving Spring

This is the time of year when I long for blossoms hues of green.  The weather lulls us into the safety of warmth and buds only to turn on us with flurries dancing in the air.

"O, how this spring of love resembleth The uncertain glory of an April day; Which now shows all the beauty of the sun, And by and by a cloud takes all away."
William Shakespeare
The Two Gentlemen of Verona

Hurry spring, we miss your friendly green ways.

Bliss - Spring

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug
Open windows, pastels, and budding flowers make me dizzy with delight.  This time of year used to be in February/March growing up in Florida.  So, I've been very enchanted by this unexpected warmth in southwestern Ontario.

We're spending every possible moment soaking up sun and barbecuing dinners.  It's a little unbelievable.

I always wanted a spring wedding, with fresh flowers and warm breezes.  My Florida wedding, in January, wasn't quite spring.  However, when you're head-over-heals in love and living countries apart, waiting one more season sounds like an eternity.

Here's to spring and here's to head-over-heals love!

Bliss - Film

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug
It's kind of like reading the book instead of watching the movie.  There's something so magical about film. There's this sense of imagination, trust, intentional artistry, and instinct.

Waiting for film is like waiting for a Christmas gift.  One where you wonder if it will return as that gaudy sweater from great aunt Gertrude or those cute wedges dancing in your dreams.

Like many of my generation, I learned photography digitally.  While the the film vs. digital debate is still alive and well, I like to think both offer great value.  I adore the look and feel of film photography.  In fact, I like my digital collections to mimic the creamy skin tones, pastel palettes, and timeless beauty of film.

My recent trip to Nassau was the perfect play-date with my 35 mm Nikon.  Today I'm reliving the sweet escape. Film + adventuring with my Love = Perfection.  Here's to timeless beauty in all it's forms.

A Little Bit of Pretty

I know I'm partial, but my family is pretty beautiful.  I loved capturing my sister and her gorgeous family during my visit home to Florida.  Sunshine, azaleas, and Spanish moss...sigh...I adore returning home.

My sister, Sherri, is so artistic.  Her home is full of vintage dreaminess.  She's coming up in May to assist me on a big editorial shoot, I can't wait!
